چکیده

The stream sediment (SS) records evolution information of the water system structure and sedimentary environment in specific regions during different geological periods, which is great significance for studying ancient planetary law changes. Based on SS geographical environments Earth, remote laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (remote-LIBS) technology combined with multidimensional scaling-back propagation neural network (MDS-BPNN) algorithm was used to conduct an in-depth analysis qualitative quantitative detection elemental composition content SS. results show that based LIBS artificial can achieve ideal major trace elements. coefficients determination (R2) test set elements greater than 0.9996, root mean square error (RMSE) less 0.7325. 0.9837, 42.21. In addition, application scenario exploring extraterrestrial life, biominerals represented by stromatolite phosphorite (SP) are easy form sand enter into under weathering. Therefore, this paper discusses feasibility using remote-LIBS detect identify such minerals disappearance SPs’ macro- micro-characteristics. From our research, we find preferred candidate discovering dust-covered biominerals. rich rocks, as Mars’ riverbeds, crucial deciphering “life signals” hidden Martian sand.

Quantitative elemental analysis by laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy

Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) has been popular in elemental analysis for various kinds of samples due to its rapid and in-situ measurement using simple equipment. However, quantitative analysis by LIBS is still inferior to conventional element analysis methods in sensitivity and accuracy. In this paper improvement in LIBS is attempted applying computational processing to low-resol...

Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy for Semi-quantitative Elemental Analysis in Soils and Marine Sediments

The Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) technique is based upon the analysis of the atomic emission lines generated close to the surface sample. The emission is observed once a laser pulse is focussed on the surface, where the very high field intensity initiates an avalanche ionisation of the sample elements, giving rise to the so-called breakdown effect. Spectral and time-resolved anal...

Determination of size, concentration and elemental composition of colloids with laser-induced breakdown detection/spectroscopy (LIBD/S).

The application of laser-induced breakdown detection (LIBD) as a new and powerful particle-analyzing technique for the determination of solubility data by monitoring initial colloid generation, when the metal ion concentration just exceeds the solubility at a given pH value, is investigated. Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) is used for selective analysis of an aqueous suspension of l...

Laser-induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (libs) for Elemental Composition Analysis of Aerosols

Laser-induced Breakdown spectroscopy was applied for the elemental analysis of aerosols. Particular care has been taken in optimizing the time resolution of the LIBS spectra and the detection limit of the technique has been evaluated for Na, Ca and Mg atoms. The applicability of the technique has been extended to the case of fly ash generated from coal combustion. Introduction The analysis of a...
